A lack of safe, affordable housing has been an issue for many years in NE Washington State, but the COVID pandemic seemed to exacerbate it. The price of simple homes skyrocketed, and rental housing costs went through the roof. The Washington Housing Alliance Action Fund works to educate voters and promote public policies that ensure that everyone in Washington State has access to a safe, healthy, affordable home.

As a parent with a child in public school, I fear the news that an active shooting situation is going on in my community. And with firearms the number one cause of death in children 19 and younger, I am doubly concerned. But the idea that we need to systematically remove all guns from people is absurd. I stand with the majority of firearm owners who are responsible and want reasonable gun safety laws.

Grandmothers Against Gun Violence is a grassroots organization committed to eliminating gun violence in all our communities.
